The emphasis at the Urban City Lab (UCL) is on LAB - Laboratory. It is a media and interaction platform that actively promotes the ‘new desire for urban neighbourhoods’. UCL promotes participation. It initiates, accompanies and communicates projects effectively to attract maximum attention.
Against the background of increasing digitalisation, UCL spotlights subjects such as:
- Living and life in urban neighbourhoods
- Mobility and logistics
- Energy supply and distribution
- New ways of using resources
- And lots more
The Urban City Lab is a platform for everyone involved with these developments, e.g., the neighbourhood’s inhabitants, municipalities, planners, architects, science, industry, the automobile and IT sector, commerce and the retail trade.
At this year’s Hypermotion, UCL will have its own stand for the first time and present its AV studio. The first conference will be held under the motto, ‘When will the future reach me?’
The Urban City Lab is a joint development of MVRDV architects, Rotterdam, and A9CON consultants, Hamburg.Further information
