The smc took place from 14-16 September 2021 as part of Hypermotion. It is a future forum for concepts, solutions, products and knowledge transfer for sustainable mobility in cities and regions. It combines professional conferences, an exhibition, workshops and interactive parts.
The smc - Smart Mobility + Green Cities Conference focuses on the DNA of our future traffic and transport systems. The topics are climate protection, emission reduction and sustainability in cities and regions. The latest ideas and innovations for shaping tomorrow's mobility and urban logistics, the best approaches for the digital networking and development of infrastructure on land, on water and in the air will be addressed, too.
Over the course of three days, experts discussed a wide range of issues. The main focus was on opportunities and risks on the way to the often and controversially discussed mobility revolution in both urban centres and rural areas. Most important trends, disruptive changes, evolutionary developments, and the minor and major revolutions required in personal transport, public transport and urban logistics were highlighted. The smc puts its finger on the pulse of modern mobility looking at the following main topics:
Day 1, 14.09.2021 smc: Hypermotion X Automechanika – digital, sustainable, connected
What will mobility in our cities and regions look like and what new products and services will emerge from it? What role will the car play in the future? What will the transport of the future look like and how and where will these vehicles be produced? What smart solutions are there for optimising and securing mobility, transport and logistics chains? What functionalities do these have and what new markets will they open? What benefits do ITS and Car2X infrastructures entail?
09.30 – 11.00 Official opening of the Hypermotion
11.30 – 13.00 smc:1 Smart cities and digital regions
14.00 – 15.30 smc:2 E-Mobility and alternative fuels
16.00 – 17.30 smc:3 On Demand Mobility / Outlook: Autonomous driving
Day 2, 15.09.2021 smc: New MIND Set – multimodal, intelligent, data-based
What factors influence our future mobility behaviour? What are the consequences of our actions? How can traffic be managed smartly? Are digitalisation and big data analytics the keys to real-time management of the transport system? How can the systems be successfully migrated? What mobility needs do users have and how can the energy and transport revolutions both be successful at the same time?

Day 3, 16.09.2021 smc: Urban Perfomance Infrastructure
How can cities take advantage of digitalisation to relieve overstretched resources? How do we sustain the retail industry in times of hyperlogistics through Corona? What new ideas and companies are conquering the mobility and logistics scene? What are the transportation or supply and disposal concepts of the cities and regions?
